The seas have been rough the wind has been howling here for almost three days now. Finally today we caught a break in the weather and the men had a chance to go out and check their lobstering gear.
Today i took a hike to Northern Light and sighted great cormorants, northern gannets,eider ducks. ALong the road some Black-capped chickadees were flying in and out of the thickets.

- I have lived on Long and Brier Island most of my life and I love the natural beauty of our islands and the waters that surround us. I have worked as a stewardship officer of the Brier Island Nature Preserve for the Nature Conservancy of Canada, naturalist guide for many whale watching companies in our area, wrote a book entitled"Brier Island's Wildflower Field Guide", and volunteer for many nature organizations such as: N.S Bird Society, Environment Canada Species at Risk, GOMI-Gulf of Maine environmental youth program.I have won the Bay of Fundy Education and Awareness award and strive to tell as many people of the importance of stewarding and preserving our area for the next generation to enjoy as much as i do.
