Sightings from our community

Hi Everyone
Wanted to post some sightings that have been reported to me lately from community members. At pond cove Linden Thurber sighted 3 Baird Sandpipers this morning.
Two nights ago on a beautiful clear night Virginia Tudor and her grandchildren decided to go to Northern Light for a walk. They were watching a seal when Virginia sighted a big flock of seabirds in one area feeding. She told her grandchildren to watch that spot for a whale and sure enough a whale came up through the feed lunge feeding. She said the noise sounded just like a waterfall from all the rushing water coming out of the whales mouth. You never know what you will see on Brier Island!
Today i took a walk to Northern light and sighted Goldfinches, Black-throated green warblers, Black-capped chickadee's. I also heard some terns by the bouy circling around making a huge racket! Cormorants were drying their wings standing on the rocks, the fireweed is finally in bloom at scataway. Blueberries, and raspberries are out got to get my pail ready to get some for the winter! All in all a very lovely day on our Island.
